This pictorial record (and description) of Dorset pubs well illustrates Dorset's rural and coastal nature. The author breaks the county up into six areas and then illustrates and describes the pubs within each area. All the pubs are currently trading and the author has in many cases used earlier photographs to illustrate them. Although the book's sub-title refers to breweries there is not a seperate breweries section, instead breweries are described and illustrated as they occur in the areas, with an emphasis on the more recent micro-breweries. Some excellent illustrations of pubs and brewery related ephemera. No index but a full bibliography.
