This issue's cover photo of the Coach & Horses Inn in Chepstow links to Mike Hammersley's article on pubs and beers in Bristol then up to Chepstow, C hippenham and Gt. Malvern. As is traditional in the Feb/Mar issue of the New Imbiber gives his iconoclastic review of the previous year and his "without fear or favour" 2009 Awards. A cheering report in these days of unstoppable pub closures follows on the saving and success of the Lugger Inn at Chickerell in Dorset. Later on Mr Hughes returns again to Berlin and uses the city's comprehensive rail, tram and underground systems to visit and assess mainly brewpubs with the odd mainstream brew thrown in.
And of course in the middle of the magazine is the Imbiber's unique feature - the New Breweries and New Beers update.
